Recycle, Reuse and Repurpose are more than words to us. We live it.
When a client’s lighting fixtures have served their original purpose and are replaced with newer, more energy efficient ones, we “retire” these fixtures to what we lovingly call our “graveyard”. Then, when a local not-for-profit organization is in need of electrical services, we offer them these retired fixtures from our “graveyard”. We completely refurbish these fixtures to meet the needs of the organization and offer them at no cost. For some organizations this service option means they can get what they need and still
stay within their budget. To date, we have been honored to help ForKids Inc. and Vets House in this way, enabling them to focus on what they do best.
For ForKids Inc., a not for profit that is breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty for families and children in crisis by providing housing, education, and clinical support. The playground at their Norfolk, VA facility was in desperate need of new lighting. What they had stopped working and wasn’t safe. Relay Electric refurbished light fixtures from their graveyard and installed them – free. “We don’t even think twice when ForKids needs something” says Shannon Lee, President of Relay Electric. They [ForKids] provide a wonderful service to so many in need. We try to help by doing what we can with what we have. It’s the right thing to do.”
